How it started
Too expensive. Too slippery. Or just not what I was looking for. I wanted a natural rubber mat that grips, cushions and stays put. So we made it ourselves.
Why Luterra
We built the mat the way we wanted it ourselves. With grip, with cushioning and with a natural rubber base.
The PU surface grips as soon as your hands touch it. Sweat doesn't make it slippery, and the grip lasts session after session.
4 mm of natural rubber gently cushion your knees, wrists and hips. You still stand firmly, because the mat only gives where it should.
Beneath the surface is natural rubber, made from the latex of the rubber tree. All materials are tested to the EU REACH requirements.

About a quarter of the mat is the top layer. It grips even when you sweat, feels soft on the skin and wipes clean with a damp cloth.
Three quarters of the mat are natural rubber. It cushions knees and wrists, and at a good 3 kg it keeps the mat firmly on the floor.
Enough cushioning for your joints, thin enough for a firm stance. And at 68 cm it's wider than many other mats.

Ich hatte schon einige Yogamatten, aber keine hat sich so angenehm angefühlt wie diese. Der Halt ist wirklich stark, auch wenn man etwas ins Schwitzen kommt. Die Verarbeitung wirkt hochwertig und das Material fühlt sich einfach gut an. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Behind Luterra
It all started quite simply: I needed a new yoga mat. What I found was either pretty expensive, often 150 euros or more, or didn't live up to what I had in mind.
What mattered to me: natural rubber. A surface that still grips when I sweat. Good cushioning for knees and wrists. And a mat that doesn't slide across the floor with every move.
That's exactly the mat we built. And since I'm surely not the only one looking for it, it's now available for you too.

No. The PU surface holds even during sweaty sessions and feels pleasant on the skin.

Absolutely. The strong grip gives you confidence, especially at the start. And if you've been practising for a while, you'll notice the difference right away.
The base is natural rubber, the surface is polyurethane (PU). The materials are tested to the EU REACH requirements in an SVHC procedure.
Our mats are manufactured in China to our specifications. They ship from Germany, directly from our warehouse.
After practice, let it air dry unrolled, out of direct sunlight. If needed, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap. Don't fold it, roll it up with the coloured side facing out.
Within Germany nothing, shipping is included in the price. The mat usually arrives within 2 to 5 working days, with the carry bag already included.
